Chick-fil-A's breakfast menu is a shining beacon of deliciousness in a sea of mediocre breakfast menus.
Unsurprisingly, it's the most popular fast food chain24 statesA hearty breakfast is provided. But like any fast food joint, it's not just gold that glitters.
We rated all 12 available items to find the best and best kept items.

There's so much more than just chicken and everything is under $5.

12. Chicks and Mini
Mini breads... glittering. I was immediately suspicious of anything that wasn't fried but still gleamed like a smudge of oil in the midday sun.
The "Chick-n-Mini" consists of regular Chick-n-Fil-A chicken nuggets placed in a "bun" pouch and brushed with a flaky "honey sauce". There was an odd taste that I couldn't quite understand - it tasted a bit sweet but mixed with chicken.
Overall, I'm not sure how much I like these. There's more bread in each bite than nuggets, and the shape of the mini chicks doesn't quite spoil the breakfast atmosphere. They come in packs of three and four, but honestly, two minis and I'm done.

11. Chicken Egg Cheese Bagel
For starters, it's the perfect combination of gooey American cheese and runny eggs, with a classic Chick-fil-A chicken breast in the middle.
But the whole grain bagel cuts pretty rudely at the end of each bite — an unwanted incorporation of nutty whole grains. Of course, if you like whole grains that's fine, but if not... that's a bit much.
A regular bagel would make this sandwich even better. I understand the health consciousness of opting for whole grains, but at what cost? That was enough for me to keep biting, but I didn't really like this one.

10. Protein BBQ
Despite the generous amount of melted cheese, this sandwich avoids the greasy, bread-centric heaviness common to many breakfast foods.
I don't mind grilled chicken - it's flavorful and the light citrus marinade helps cut through the cheese.
Not much protein was added. The idea, of course, is low-calorie, fat-free protein, but that shouldn't come at the expense of flavor. Halfway through the meal, the flavor began to fade in the face of the blandness of the egg white.

9. Obstbecher
This is fruit. Who doesn't like fruit? But ordering a fast-food fruit cup is a very dangerous game — and you probably won't win.
Surprisingly, it was a gamble with good odds. Strawberries, apples (both red and green), citrus and blueberries combine in a crisp firmness that offers a surprising freshness.
The reason for the lower ranking is none other than: why order fruit cups from Chick-fil-A? Sure, it's a great side dish, but... come on.

8. Chicken Breakfast Burrito
Canola oil breakfast burritos are available at every fast food joint these days.
The chicken pieces were crispy and a bit dry - good for tender meat, but out of place with the soft and rich mix of eggs, cheese and delicious roasted vegetables.
However, there isn't a single dominant flavor, making it a weaker choice — and that's where the spicy jalapeño salsa comes in. It's perfect for chicken burritos, adding flavor to every bite.

7. Butter biscuit
Ah, the cookie of America: buttery, soft, with a touch of salt, innocent, pure, it represents everything good in this world.
However, it's unlikely to fill you up or constitute true breakfast nutrition - I'm not sure how the pioneers did it. This biscuit is best served as a side dish. I recommend spreading some grape jelly on top. If you are adventurous, raspberries might be the right choice.

6. Greek yogurt parfait
I won't mince words: it's very good.
The fruit looks and tastes fresh, not canned. Choices were mixed muesli or crackers; the cashier recommended the cereal. I have to agree because the cookie sprinkles are too sweet.
The yogurt was delicious; I'm inclined to think it's actually Greek yogurt. It's light, sweet, and has a distinctive flavor that's distinct from the gelatinous, over-sweetened gelatin yogurt disguised as yogurt in most fast-food restaurants. I would have ranked it higher if it weren't for those evasive maneuvers.

5. Hash Browns
If yoghurt is too healthy for you, I have your answer: hash browns.
How can you not love these delicious, oily, bottle-cap-sized slices of deliciousness? They cool down quickly, but retain their aroma even at lukewarm temperatures. I just wish they were crispier.

4. Sausage Breakfast Burrito
The sausage burrito beats the chicken burrito by a mile. The sausage is mild, the eggs are rich and authentic looking. The grilled onions and peppers were very filling and tasty.
Monterey Jack and cheddar are subtle but not absent - they take a backseat to add delicious richness and complexity. The flour tortilla was just a vehicle, not the flavor it was meant to have.
The accompanying jalapeño salsa had a little flavor but wasn't overwhelming. It blends perfectly with the flavors of the burrito without being overpowering or overpowering.

3. Chicken Cookies
This is one of the easiest breakfast menus ever. Chicken meets cookies.
Fluffy and savory, this cookie pairs perfectly with classic buttermilk marinated chicken. Add a dollop of jelly and it's a pretty thing. Sweet, savory, salty, all in a golden hand nugget.
Maybe just a little dry, but not beyond the bounds of reason.

2. Bacon Egg Cheese Cookies
There's something exquisite about a light biscuit with eggs, melted orange cheese, and some sort of luncheon meat.
But of course, like almost every breakfast sandwich with bacon, I was craving more bacon. The cookies, while buttery and delicious, drowned out the tangy flavors of the eggs and cheese while the bacon drowned in the mix. Why did the three stripes become the industry standard? Give me a bone - or at least a fourth.
Despite all the complaints, it's a pretty tasty sandwich.

1. Sausage, egg and cheese biscuits
I can call it divine because I have never seen anything so noble natural.
Glorious clouds of biscuits, butter and bread; cheese thickly laid on an airy layer of eggs; a well seasoned, almost spicy, sausage patty, fat and thick. This sandwich represents the golden ratio of the cookie breakfast sandwich - the harmonious balance of all the ingredients coming together to create something truly memorable.
in myprevious comparisonAmong fast-food cookie breakfast sandwiches, this one almost took the win—it's just the lack of an actual fried egg that earned Wendy's the title.
